To those of us living in California, many (most? all?) of the blogs and sites with random Google advertising are being served YES ON 8 ADS, NONSTOP. Please do the following if you see such an ad in your daily surf:

• Write a respectful email to the webmaster and request that they turn off their Google adstream until the election is over
• Perhaps write to Google and request that they at least temper the barrage with other ads, and inform them that they are losing some amount of ad revenue from webmasters who are turning the stream off for the day.
• If you run a blog or website with Google ads, please turn the stream off for the day (even if you do not live in California, or don't see any offensive Yes on 8 ads from your location) to avoid participating in this blitz. Or, like me, set the stream to public service ads only.

I'm certainly not advocating censorship, but literally 9 out of 10 sites I just visited hit me with Yes on 8 ads - as in, they themed the entire page from the top banner to the siderails to the text ads. It's UGLY and OFFENSIVE.

I am a longtime user of your site. Today, it is absolutely plastered in highly offensive Yes on 8 ads. I understand that they are probably being served up randomly by Google to people with California IP addresses, but if there is anything you can do to have them removed, I would be grateful. Amending a State constitution to remove human and civil rights from a whole category of people is so far beyond wrong, I don't even know where to start.

If in fact you are in support of Yes on 8, I am afraid I will no longer be visiting your site. I can't support people who don't support the basic humanity of others. If, however, you do not support discrimination, please consider taking down your Google adstream for the next few days to avoid participating in this blitz.
