nudity / nakedness

I have a performance coming up:
its a tableau vivant and uses a nude male figure.

Much of the audience will be gay, and or lgbt etc.

In this piece, it's important that the body be experienced for its exposure, not naked for solely an erotic purpose.

How do you, gentle reader, distinguish between naked and nude in the figure? When do you encounter nudity as emulative of something other than eros, and why? Or are we now indelibly such a pornographic culture that it just can't be helped.

Thanks for your thoughts.
