Both events are FREE to the public, but we encourage folks to make
donations to support Roselle's visit and her work in the Philippines.

BIOS::
Roselle Pineda is faculty member of the Department of Art Studies,
College of Arts and Letters, University of the Philippines, Diliman.
She is also a scholar, a performance artist and activist. She is
currently in the process of publishing her MA thesis entitled,
"Eloquent Crevices: Lesbian Interventions in (Art) Production, Theory
and History," looking at possibilities of pursuing a PhD degree in
performance and cultural studies.

Roselle regularly participates in international, national and local
conferences, art festivals, workshops, round-table discussions,
symposium, forum, community service activities and other related
cultural events as paper reader, panelist, lecturer, resource person,
organizer, facilitator and participant. Some of the subjects that she
touch on in her lectures and papers are queer theory, lesbian art,
struggle and identity, feminism, women's movement, women's studies,
gender and the arts, performance art, dance/performing arts, sexuality
and the body.

Roselle is a member of Congress of Teachers/Educators for Nationalism
and Democracy, the lesbian organization Womyn Supporting Womyn Center
and Ibarang Arts Foundation.

Joaquin "Wakx" Uy is the Secretary General of the Philippine-US
Solidarity Organization (PUSO) which advocates on issues of human
rights in the Philippines. Wakx is a long-time queer rights activist
and has been engaged in Filipino community organizing in Seattle since
2002. He is also active in the Queer People of Color Liberation
Project.
