Here is an editorial against a bill recently introduced in the Alabama legislature that would ban books that include gay characters or lifestyles.

The rather unusual thing about the editorial is that it is actually written by someone with strong conservative views. I mean, the author actually believes it's okay to discriminate against someone based on their sexual orientation, and explicitly states this, and still she is strongly against book censorship. "We cannot, nay, we must not, allow such unconstitutional censorship to occur in our country.  I encourage all of you, therefore, to write to Mr. Allen, and to inform him of what true American values really are" she concludes.
