Friday: isolated T-storms, temperature from the mid 60s to the low 80s with a light breeze
Saturday: chance of a T-storm in the early morning, partly cloudy, temperature from the mid 60s to the low 80s
Sunday: Average temperature in the upper 70s, low humidity, lovely clear skies. In other words, anticipate a stunning day. Sunblock is recommended, as are practical shoes (or what passes for same in your world).
Postqueer's Weekend Itinerary
Friday: Meet at Ike(103 2nd Ave @6th St) between 7:30 and 8:30 for snacks & cocktails, then move on to the Parkside Lounge (317 Houston b/t B&C) around 9 PM, and from there...?
Saturday: Meet between 1:30 and 2 PM at Coney Island's Astroland for the Mermaid Parade.
For those who are joining us at the Dyke March, we will be meeting up on the southwest corner of 23rd and 5th Avenue between 5:30 and 6 PM. When enough of us have gathered, we'll blend in and march off down the street! Eventually, we'll probably go our own ways for a few hours to change outfits, freshen up and/or grab a bite to eat, but we're reconnecting for the evening with several possible events to attend. Most likely, we'll hit both the Color Me Queer party aboard the Frying Pan and what we have been told is an 80s dance night at Opaline. There's a 99% likelihood of our not going within 25 blocks of the Dyke Ball, thank you very much. However, for better or worse, we'll probably end up at Meow Mix in the wee hours (a friend is DJing that night).
Sunday: Pride, pride, pride! The parade starts on 5th and 52nd at 12 PM, but we wanna march with NY Marriage Equality, which is in staging section 3...so if you want to march with us in that contingent, we'll be at 53rd between 5th and Madison between 11:30 and 12 PM. There are plenty of other contingents to march with, of course.....or just meet us later at the madhouse that is PrideFest. There's no sense in making a plan for meetup, just call my cell and we'll come find you if we can.
Hope to see you at one or all of these events.
